Aesthetic clinics in the United Kingdom

Choose your city to see its aesthetic and skin clinics and the treatments each one offers, from anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers to skin boosters, microneedling and chemical peels. Inside a city list you can narrow the choice to a single treatment, or to clinics where doctors, nurses or dentists give the injections. Where enough clinics offer them, HydraFacial and fat freezing have city pages of their own.

Questions patients ask

Do I need to see a prescriber before anti-wrinkle injections?

Yes. Anti-wrinkle injections use botulinum toxin, which is a prescription-only medicine in the UK. A doctor, dentist, nurse or pharmacist who can prescribe should assess you face to face before it is prescribed, even if someone else then gives the injections. Be wary of a clinic that skips that step or offers to prescribe over the phone or by video.

How can I check that my practitioner is a doctor, nurse or dentist?

Ask for their full name and look them up on the public register of their profession: the GMC for doctors, the NMC for nurses and the GDC for dentists. Each register is free to search online and shows whether the person is registered today. Some practitioners also join voluntary registers such as the JCCP or Save Face, which set their own standards, but these are not the same as professional registration.

Can under-18s have fillers or anti-wrinkle injections?

Not for cosmetic reasons in England. Since 2021 the law there has made it an offence to give anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers to anyone under 18 for cosmetic purposes, even with a parent’s consent, so clinics should ask for proof of age. Treatment for a medical need, under a doctor, is a separate matter.

What should I ask before having dermal fillers?

Ask which product will be used and whether it is a hyaluronic acid filler, which can be dissolved with an enzyme if something goes wrong. Ask whether the practitioner can arrange that quickly, who you contact out of hours and whether a review appointment is included in the price.
